A milestone in innovation and education
Opening Ceremony
What an exciting week it has been as we proudly inaugurated ESCP Business School's new Turin campus! This momentous occasion marks the beginning of an inspiring chapter for our institution, merging Turin's rich historical heritage with modern innovation. Nestled in the city's heart, our beautiful 8,000-square-metre campus provides a vibrant and collaborative space for students and faculty and is now home to over 1,000 students from 76 nationalities.
Our engaging opening ceremony included a press conference attended by distinguished guests from academia, local institutions and the business community. Under the thoughtful moderation of Fabio Tamburini, editor-in-chief of Il Sole 24 Ore, we explored the exciting potential this new campus holds for the future of education. The speeches delivered by prominent figures—Dominique Restino, President of the Paris Chamber of Commerce; Dario Gallina, President of the Turin Chamber of Commerce; Philippe Houzé, Chairman of ESCP Business School Board of Directors; Léon Laulusa, Executive President & Dean of ESCP Business School; and Francesco Profumo, President of ESCP Turin Campus—stressed our unwavering commitment to innovation, sustainability, and making a global impact.
"Relocating our fully-fledged Turin campus to a vibrant new site marks a pivotal milestone for ESCP. This state-of-the-art facility strengthens our unique European multi-campus model, providing students with an unparalleled multicultural experience across Europe," said Prof. Laulusa.
We were honoured to receive warm greetings from dignitaries such as Anna Maria Bernini, Italy's Minister for Universities and Research, reinforcing ESCP's mission of cultivating responsible, multicultural European managers. Local dignitaries, including Alberto Cirio, President of the Piedmont Region, and Stefano Lo Russo, Mayor of Turin, joined us in celebrating this remarkable milestone and emphasised the campus's role in elevating Turin as an international education hub.
The event also featured an engaging panel discussion titled "The New Architecture of Education: The ESCP Turin Campus," where Francesco Rattalino, Alberta Di Giuli, Filippo Gelosi, Isabelle Toussaint, and Attilio Giaquinto shared their valuable insights.
"The learning environment is an active participant, capable of profoundly shaping the educational experience. In this sense, architecture becomes a strategic tool to promote innovation, collaboration, and student well-being. Flexible, technologically advanced, and sustainable spaces create the ideal ground for dynamic teaching, stimulating creativity and entrepreneurship," stated Prof. Rattalino.
"The new ESCP campus in Turin is a concrete example of how architecture can integrate and engage with the local area, becoming a reference point for local development. This space is not just a place of learning but a catalyst for research, innovation, and growth for the entire local and national community," highlighted Prof. Di Giuli.
One of the most exciting moments of the day was the symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially marking the opening of our new campus.
Academic Year Opening Ceremony
Continuing the momentum, we enjoyed the Academic Year Opening Ceremony, attended by Léon Laulusa, Francesco Rattalino, Pramuan Bunkanwanicha, Alberta Di Giuli, and alumna Francesca Giubergia, who joined us as a special guest. This gathering highlighted the close-knit ties between our campus, the expansive alumni network, and the local business community. Following inspiring welcome speeches from our academics, students had the chance to ask Francesca, who studied in Turin in 2004, the very first academic year of the ESCP in Italy, several questions reflecting on her study and career experiences.
Celebrating Two Decades of Impact in Turin
The opening of our new campus coincided with the 20th anniversary of ESCP's presence in Turin. Over the past two decades, our Turin campus has played a crucial role in shaping the leaders of tomorrow across various industries. On Friday evening, we celebrated by warmly opening our doors to the city and hosting a lively cocktail reception that provided a fantastic opportunity for attendees to connect with the vibrant ESCP community, with alumni, faculty, and students. We welcomed over 1,400 guests who explored our innovative spaces designed for collaboration and creativity. Engaging activities and games allowed attendees to experience the unique services we offer students, including a live ESCP quiz, a digital board game, a personality test, and a fun photo booth to capture unforgettable moments. To add to the celebration, guests had the chance to win exciting prizes, making the evening even more enjoyable.
A promising start: Turin Campus Open Day
The ESCP Turin campus celebrations culminated in a highly successful Open Day, during which 607 participants—a 38% increase from the previous year—explored the new campus and its facilities.
This event allowed prospective students and their families to engage directly with faculty, staff, and current students, providing valuable insights into ESCP's global educational philosophy and diverse programmes. The Open Day offered a plethora of engaging activities that were well-received by attendees. Guests were welcomed by the Dean, who delivered an inspiring address, setting the tone for the day. Participants had the chance to attend informative programme presentations led by academic directors, recruiters, and staff, as well as interact with our enthusiastic Student Ambassadors. Moreover, attendees explored various service booths, including the Careers Centre, Student Experience Service, and those representing ESCP’s other campuses. The Student Societies room showcased our vibrant community, featuring over 80 associations that enrich student life, while, the Blue Factory, ESCP startup incubator, provided insights into the exciting world of startups.
As we look to the future, the new Turin campus is a testament to ESCP's vision for the future of education: globally connected, rooted in tradition and driven by innovation.
