24th October 2018... Sami Rahal, CEO, Deloitte France hosted Frank Bournois, Dean & Executive President of ESCP and Ghislaine Sanchez, Member of the Board of the ESCP Foundation and the two Professors Aurélien Acquier and Valentina Carbone for the signing ceremony of the new Chair in Circular Economy and Sustainable Business Models.
Ghislaine Sanchez welcomed "the creation of a chair at the heart of the major challenges of the contemporary world".
For Frank Bournois, "This is a subject of vital importance, but not so widely disseminated, particularly in its societal, organizational and human dimensions. It is therefore an amazing adventure that is opening up to us to revisit these subjects, moreover with a european and international ambition that is dear to us". This vision converges with Sami Rahal's, who considers that "Deloitte through its activities and this Chair contributes to designing a better future and developing possible futures".
At Deloitte, the chair will be managed by Victoire Escalon, Director of Circular Economy, and Didier Livio, Partner in charge of sustainable development activities, who wants to "rethink business models in the light of circularity" with an innovative, demanding and transversal vision, based on more than 20 years' experience in these subjects.
On the ESCP side, the Scientific Direction of the Chair will be provided by Professors Aurélien Acquier and Valentina Carbone. The Chair's activities (research, teaching, events) are based on the premise that the circular economy must be conceived in a collaborative and interdisciplinary manner.
As ESCP celebrates its 200th anniversary next year, the theme of this new Chair is perfectly in line with the School's mission to train and inspire the tomorrow's leaders.
Since 2012, Deloitte has been supporting ESCP through its Research Chairs. ESCP's links with companies are valuable, encouraging a cross-fertilisation of views and skills that enable everyone to take part in the changes in the economic and societal environment.
