Executive Education White Paper
ChatGPT and Generative Artificial Intelligence: What upheavals will the managers of the future face?
With Louis-David Benyayer Affiliate Professor at ESCP Business School
With the generative AI revolution, how can managers best approach this new technology that will change the way we work? Louis-David Benyayer explores this topic in his Executive Education white paper.
The generative artificial intelligence revolution has begun, and the world of work is set to be turned upside down.
With ChatGPT or Bard for text, Dalle-E or Midjourney for images, tasks that were previously reserved for humans can now be automated: writing emails and briefing notes, classifying and extracting data, producing original photographs, summarising a 300-page text in 4 paragraphs, correcting or translating it... And all with a fairly high level of confidence.
As well as being a technical feat, ChatGPT has been widely adopted: in less than 2 months, it has been used by 100 million people. Hundreds of digital services use automated generative artificial intelligence tools, but companies in more traditional sectors - lawyers and bankers in particular - are also using it in their day-to-day processes.
Can we predict today the changes that will come tomorrow? What should companies expect, but also fear, from the systematic and widespread use of these new types of artificial intelligence? What impact will these tools have on employment? What are the implications for managers?
Louis-David Benyayer, Affiliate Professor at ESCP Business School and strategy consultant, discusses these issues.
This white paper is part of a series entitled “Leaders for the Future”, produced by ESCP Business School Executive Education, that addresses the needs of companies and professionals so that they can thrive in the face of challenges and a rapidly shifting business landscape.
