Joining the Master in Management as an exchange student
ESCP accepts only nominated students from partner institutions. If you wish to study at ESCP as an exchange student, please contact your home institution. The application process can be divided into different steps: nomination by your home institution, your application and acceptance by ESCP. Once students are accepted by ESCP they will receive an acceptance letter and their log-in information for the intranet. From that moment they will have access to all the necessary information on the intranet platform.
What you study
Exchange students are allowed to choose elective courses of 30 hours or 15 hours. When validated, the 30-hour courses are worth 5 ECTS credits, and the 15-hour courses are worth 2.5 ECTS credits.
Exchange students must register for their courses online (through the ESCP intranet). Detailed dates for online registration will be provided directly to the students, once available.
Master level students are also allowed to apply for a specialised track. To do so, they will need to contact the Programme Office as well as the exchange coordinators. Some courses are only for Master level students, therefore it is very important to read the course description carefully in order to make sure that the student meets the necessary prerequisites.
The maximum workload authorised is 180 hours (30 ECTS credits) per semester, which is a maximum of 6 courses x 30 hours, or a combination of 30 hours and 15 hours courses (excluding language classes and the European Introduction Seminar). For the Summer semester, the maximum workload is 20 ECTS credits.
Language courses:
Exchange students may enrol in a weekly language class upon arrival at ESCP at no additional cost. In this case, they must take a language test on the welcome day to evaluate their level. The course is two hours per week during the semester, and is for credit. Classes for beginners are also offered.
Buddy system and international associations
Tandem learning involves two people with different mother tongues working together to improve their foreign language skills and intercultural awareness.
At ESCP, the Tandem Program aims to enhance intercultural communication and to facilitate integration of different student populations on the Paris Campus. Students should contact the Language and Cultures Department for more information.
Shuffle
Shuffle is an international association at ESCP. It organises international events for students in order to help with student integration, promote the exchange programmes and the Erasmus programme.
International Fair
Every year at the ESCP Paris Campus the visiting students are invited to present their home institution to the other students. Remember to bring your national flag and some traditional clothing or food!
Finishing a period of studies at ESCP
Students can see their result online (after completing a short evaluation survey for each course) usually in February (S1) and June (S2). Official transcripts will be available online for downloading.
Grades in France are awarded on a scale of 1-20 but the tradition is such that grades higher than 16 are seldom awarded. The passing grade for a single subject is usually 10/20.
