David Chekroun is a Tenured Professor of International Business Law at ESCP Business School and is the faculty chair for the Law & Finance program. Doctor of Law of the Sorbonne Law School, obtaining an Master in European Business (MEB/MBA) of ESCP, he lectures various courses in the field of International Business Transactions for law and business students in Europe (Paris/London/Berlin), in the Middle East and in the United States.
At ESCP, he is the director of the « Law & Finance » major, that offers students, an unparalleled combination of legal and financial education. He designs and develops with faculty and top executives for European companies executive education programs with a special focus on law and business skills. He was the KPMG Professor in International Corporate Governance. He is the co-founder of the Institute for Corporate Governance https://icgprofessorship.org.
He was visiting associate Professor of Law at NYU Abu Dhabi. He was visiting professor of International Business transactions at Cardozo School of Law in New York City, Global Hauser Research Fellow at NYU School of Law, adjunct professor of International arbitration at the Sorbonne Law School and assistant professor at University of Paris XI.
His research interests are mainly, International Business Law, Law & Finance, FDI screening, Corporate governance and controversial legal issues. He has published a number of articles in the field of international Business Transactions and he is one of the editors-in-chief of the International Business Law Journal, Fusions & Acquisitions Magazine, Éditions Dealflow-Data. He is a member of the Scientific Council, Institut des études et de la recherche sur le droit et la justice (IERDJ) and the chairman Amicus curiae https://amicus-curiae.net.
He is admitted to the Paris Bar and worked in the Litigation and Arbitration department of Herbert Smith LLP. In addition he was Scholar-in-Residence to the International Arbitration Group at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP in the London office. He also advised, as a legal consultant, law firms and companies in international business transactions.
As a member of different think tanks, he crafts innovative policies and organize conferences on corporate governance and international business in Paris, London, Abu Dhabi and New York.
